 Chung Kim's Kids
Eight local students of Chung Kim’s Black Belt Academy did an outstanding job in an inter-school tournament in Bettenforf, Iowa in September. All eight placed in at least two of the three competition categories, which were board-breaking, sparring and forms.
“I am very proud of them," said instructor Rick Crouse. "I cannot say that enough! They represented our school very well.” Dan Baik, Josh Wheeler, Laura Olshak, Claudine DeGryse, Aaron Hanson, Marcus Harris, Ryan Hanson and Taylor Gibson were the participants in the tournament in which more than 100 students competed.
A 9th degree black belt recognized throughout the world Chung Kim gained his training in the Korean armed forces, and is the publisher of the TKD times, an international martial arts magazine. All of the eight participants will be featured in the magazine's next edition.
