Tri-Valley students proud to be Americans
We know that kids in all area schools have been paying tribute to the victims of the terrorist attack on America. But, we were particularly moved by the efforts the entire Tri-Valley student body, and Tom and Shelley Bruning, whose barn sits next to the new Tri-Valley Middle School on Rt. 150 in Downs. The Brunings provided the space, and the kids did the rest. Art students from Tri-Valley designed and painted the American flag and words on the barn over the weekend following the Sept. 11 tragedy. Then the following Monday and Wednesday, all Tri-Valley High School, Middle School and Elementary School students came to the barn, dipped their hands in red, white and blue paint, and transferred each of their hand prints onto the barn in a show of unity and support for our country. Take a drive east on Rt. 150 past Downs when you get a chance, and take a look at this masterpiece. Kudos to all at Tri-Valley, and to the Brunings, for providing such a powerful symbol of pride in our country! |
